Cycle trails in the Trossachs area...

There are many trails to choose from in the Trossachs, we aim to use this page to provide some information on some of our favourites. We also aim to hope to make you aware of any exiting new trail developments in the local area. Each trail has a description along with an Easy, Medium or Hard rating.

Buchlyvie Railway  (Rating: Easy)
-----
Average Timings: 1-2hrs This trail starts from the bike shop at trossachs holiday park and follows local paths and the old dismantled railway toward buchlyvie. It is a very popular route with families and anyone who hasn't jumped on their bike for a while, perfect for a trip with the kids. In total a 9 mile round trip (4.5 either way), but you could always turn back early and blame it on the kids, no one will know!

Lochs And Glens (taken from: Bike Scotland Trails Guide)  (Rating: Hard)
-----
This route is typical of the classic type of mountain biking found in the trossachs. A fairly long 47km circuit starting near callander and taking in a great mixture of singletrack, forest roads, open hill land and cycle route 7. Not quite an epic but certainly a cracking all day ride for those of you who enjoy a more traditional mountain route. - THIS TRAIL WAS TAKEN FROM THE 'BIKE SCOTLAND TRAILS GUIDE', AVAILABLE TO BUY IN STORE FOR £6.99. (ALSO INCLUDING 39 OTHER TRAILS ACROSS SCOTLAND)

New Routes in Queen Elizabeth II Forest Park  (Rating: Medium)
-----
The forestry commision are still working with other third parties to develop a network of family orientated cycle routes in the Loch Ard Forest area, With the long term view of creating a great cycling destination in the trossachs. Coupled with the selection of trails in the new Queen Elizabeth Forest Park map produced by the forestry commision the interest in the area is definately increasing.

Trossachs Cycles - Aberfoyle  (Rating: Medium)
-----
The long awaited bridge over the river Forth at Flanders Moss behind Trossachs Cycles is now in place after a great community effort. This means that not only ourselves but also Buchlyvie are connected to Aberfoyle. This route is currently undergoing work but is still ridable although muddy! This will soon provide a great family route and connection to longer trails in loch ard forest.
